“I am extremely happy to receive this offer and a bit nervous but excited at the same time. This is because I have so many plans with Universal Music for the advancement of my career and I can hardly wait for everything to materialise,” uttered Ernie about her new shift to the label.

Apart from wanting to give my best as Universal Music’s latest signing she also harbours some dreams of her own.

“I am obviously hoping for a major shift in my career and would definitely like to explore new horizons. I wish for a new path for my craft and more opportunities along the way.

All ready to collaborate and work with her new label, Ernie said she has quite a few things to announce very soon.

“I will always believe in what I do and continue to chase my dreams. I understand that in every partnership, there is nothing wrong in saying no to things that we do not agree with. We must know what we want and believe in ourselves, even if there are naysayers.

This is also a huge step in my solo career, so I really hope what I dream of will flourish smoothly. With similar aspirations and objectives alongside my new found family, I hope everything will pan out for the better. So stay tuned for more new updates from us very soon,” exclaimed Ernie.

Kim Lim, Managing Director of Universal Music Malaysia also shared her happiness and main goals in signing Ernie as their latest star.

“Our primary objective is to assist Ernie Zakri in creating exceptional and authentic music that showcases her unique style and talent to a global audience. Furthermore, we are committed to building her brand by devising a marketing strategy that will enable her to connect with music industry experts and collaborate with various brands.

We will continue to provide Ernie with opportunities to collaborate with other artists and producers, both domestically and internationally, to expand her network and enhance her skills.

In addition, we will help Ernie build a robust brand and social media presence that will increase her visibility and expand her audience. This will involve developing a marketing strategy that leverages various marketing channels, including social media, traditional media, and live performances,” explained Kim.

Among the upcoming plans for Ernie Zakri include the highly anticipated album launch set to take place in early November 2023. This marks Ernie’s first album release in her career as an artist, making it an incredibly special project. The album will feature Ernie’s first English song, “The Best,” produced by John Jeeve, and will consist of nearly 10 songs produced by 9 amazing different producers from Malaysia and Indonesia.

Also sharing his views about Ernie’s development is Feros Sayna, Universal Music Malaysia’s Head of A&R and Artist Management.

”Firstly, we will work with her to create a long-term career plan that aligns with her goals and aspirations. This will help us identify the areas where we can provide the most support and guidance to help her achieve success.

We will provide her with the necessary support and guidance to navigate the music industry, including negotiating fair deals, understanding the business side of the industry, and managing her career effectively. We’ll also continue to provide her with opportunities to collaborate with other artists and producers in the industry, both locally and internationally.
