Intelligent Manufacturing Kuala Lumpur 2025: A Gateway to Digital Transformation for ASEAN’s Manufacturing Sector

The upcoming Intelligent Manufacturing Kuala Lumpur (IMKL) 2025, set to take place from 14 to 16 May at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, promises to be a major event for the ASEAN manufacturing industry. This conference-led gathering will bring together a diverse range of stakeholders, including business leaders, policymakers, academics, and industry experts, all focused on strengthening the digital readiness of manufacturers in the region.

With the theme “Synergising Technologies and Workforce Adoption for Operational Success,” IMKL 2025 will focus on how digital technologies, from artificial intelligence (AI) to advanced production tools, can reshape the future of manufacturing. Key discussions will revolve around not only factory-level applications but also the overarching improvements needed across the entire ASEAN manufacturing supply chain. The event will offer valuable insights into the latest trends and strategies to enhance digital transformation within the industry.

The two-day conference will feature 23 renowned speakers from eight countries, including Malaysia, China, India, Singapore, and Switzerland. Among the notable speakers is Mr. James Kok, Head of AIAP-X at AI Singapore, who will explore the role of AI in transforming industries. His session, “AI-First Nation: Transforming Industries Through AI,” aims to guide manufacturers on how to leverage Singapore’s proven AI programs for regional success.

Another key speaker, Mr. Mohamed Taher Mouni, the founder of Beyond 4.0, will address the challenges of implementing sustainable digitalisation projects. His insights will be especially valuable for those looking to understand how to manage such projects on a global scale, focusing on cross-cultural engagement and overcoming implementation hurdles.

Additionally, the conference will offer a comprehensive look into the intersection of human-machine collaboration. Mr. Edwin Yap, CEO of Jemco Retail Fixtures, will share practical strategies for managing hybrid workforces. His session will provide real-world examples from Jemco’s subsidiary, Jemco Technology Solutions, which is pioneering advancements in smart warehouse automation and AI robotics.

A notable panel discussion will delve into the role of AI in workforce management. Industry experts, including Mr. Foong Chee Mun, Director of YTL AI Labs, and Mr. Sam Majid, CEO of the National AI Office Malaysia (NAIO), will explore how AI can drive productivity while also improving workforce dynamics.

In addition to the conference sessions, IMKL 2025 will feature a dynamic product showcase area, where visitors can experience cutting-edge manufacturing technologies. Leading companies such as Schaeffler (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Quantum Computing, and Moxo Pte Ltd will showcase their innovations. Meanwhile, the Tech Lab will offer interactive sessions and technical demonstrations, including workshops on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aimed at educating participants on the global impact of these goals.

One exciting addition this year is the SPS Stage Kuala Lumpur pavilion, which will introduce ASEAN manufacturers to the global Smart Production Solutions (SPS) network. Companies from the SPS network, including Belden, Bender, Bossard, and SICK, will showcase advanced solutions for smart factories and data connectivity. These corporations will also lead specialized Tech Lab sessions, giving participants a deeper understanding of key technologies driving the future of manufacturing.

For those interested in attending, the conference offers several ticketing options, including an early bird rate and group discounts. Additionally, Malaysian delegates and HRD Corp-registered companies may be eligible for fee claims under the HRD Corp levy.

IMKL 2025 offers a unique opportunity for manufacturers to explore the digitalisation journey and learn from global and regional experts. To register or learn more about the event, visit the official website at IMKL 2025 Registration.
