NEGERI SEMBILAN MENTERI BESAR APPLAUDS MALAYSIA & CHINA’S RM1BIL COLLABORATION TO STRENGTHEN MALAYSIA’S POSITIONING IN SOUTHEAST ASIA’S SEMICONDUCTOR SUPPLY CHAIN, GENERATING 500 JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Kuala Lumpur, 8 September 2022 – YAB Dato’ Seri Haji Aminuddin Bin Harun, Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan, honoured the official joint venture collaboration between local Precision Metal Parts Manufacturer-Metalmach Micro Technology (MMT) and Auxiliary Materials partner from China-Future Hover Industrial Co., Ltd (Future Hover) to invest RM1 billion in making Malaysia the ideal destination for semiconductor exports in Southeast Asia and the world.
Top-notch technology and resources will be synchronised by both sides as part of this agreement to provide the industry with a one-stop shop. This is accomplished by bringing under one roof the 40 years of precision machining, mould dies, and semiconductor development skills of MMT, the very competitive consumables and auxiliary materials of Future Hover, and their knowledge in semiconductor testing and packaging.
The domestic brand and its Chinese counterpart will spend RM1 billion together to produce RM10 billion in export income over the following ten years, commencing with the construction of an all-inclusive and complete plant in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. This will act as a centre for local and international suppliers, allowing them to obtain more competitive commodities in quicker lead times, and will create over 500 employment in the region. In doing so, the two parties seek to provide technical training and in-depth industrial knowledge in order to contribute to the development of a large population of skilled employees in Negeri Sembilan and throughout our country.
Ms. Guan Mei Ying, General Manager of Future Hover, commented saying, “Malaysia serves as an ideal location for us to anchor in the Southeast Asia region not only because of its supportive government but also factors such as the educated workforce, strategic location, and developed infrastructure that can most definitely bring a huge impact to our operations. While this collaboration will indefinitely result in a multitude of job opportunities for Malaysians, I look forward to seeing the greatness that we can achieve together as a result of combining the knowledge, expertise, and resources of two great nations.”
The press conference stated that with this partnership, MMT would have the chance to build its presence in the Chinese market, providing current services to regional industry participants and boosting the demand for Malaysian goods and services as well as export sales.
Mr. Low Kim Yoong, Operations Director of MMT, said, “With the increasing demand and tremendous expansion of the semiconductor sector within Southeast Asia, this collaboration will not only strengthen the position of both companies within the region but also enhance Malaysia’s already favorable position in the supply chain and enable our beloved country to be the priority choice for semiconductor production globally. This joint venture collaboration will enable us to handle everything from the front end to the back end of semiconductor assembly, making us one of the strongest players in the semiconductor industry supply chain.”
“We look forward to providing superior support and cost-efficient solutions for industry players across the globe as well as contributing to the growth of our nation, with the commencement of this joint venture collaboration,” he concluded.
Mr. Alfred Foo, Business Director (Malaysia) of Future Hover, who worked diligently to establish an effective and successful relationship between the two parties, was nominated to represent the general manager of Future Hover at the main event due to the lockdowns in China.
