  • Pre-Lunch: Asia Islamic Tourism & Trade Expo and World Islamic Tourism Awards 2024

     

    The Malaysia Tourism Agency Association (MATA) is proud to unveil the upcoming Asia Islamic Tourism & Trade Expo (AITEX) and the esteemed World Islamic Tourism Awards 2024. This prestigious event, slated for August 23rd to 26th, 2024, will be hosted at the Sunway Resort Hotel in Bandar Sunway, Selangor, promising to be a groundbreaking convergence for the global Islamic tourism and trade industries.

    AITEX will boast a sprawling exhibition space exceeding 3,000 square meters, featuring a vibrant array of sectors encompassing tourism, Islamic jewelry, and Islamic finance. The expo will welcome both trade professionals and the general public, with daily hours from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

    Attendees can expect a captivating showcase by a diverse range of exhibitors, hailing from nations like Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Zambia, Thailand, Indonesia, and beyond. From Iraq and Turkey to Langkawi, Pahang, Perlis, Brunei, China, and Saudi Arabia, the expo promises a journey of cultural and economic exploration.     AITEX highlights include:

  • Celebrating Excellence: Honouring Pioneers of the Islamic Travel Industry at the 1st World Islamic Tourism Award (WITA) 2023

    KUALA LUMPUR , 15 SEPT 2023 : The debut of the World Islamic Tourism Award (WITA) 2023, held in conjunction with the Asia Hajj, Umrah & Islamic Tourism Conference and Exhibition (AITEX 2023), marks a momentous occasion in the Islamic Tourism arena. This coveted award seeks to shine a spotlight on outstanding products and services within the Islamic Tourism sector, spanning all facets of the travel and tourism hospitality industry.

    Dato’ Noor Zaleha Baharudin, the Organising Chairman of WITA, underscores that this award ceremony also serves as a distinguished platform for honoring the individuals and entities that have made significant contributions to the prosperity of the Islamic Travel Industry. It stands as a symbol of gratitude and recognition for their invaluable efforts.

    “The recipients of this award have been carefully selected by adhering to standard compliance set by the WITA selecting panel who themselves each have more then 30 years experienced in tourism industry,” said Dato’ Noor Zaleha Baharudin.

    The significant of WITA held in Malaysia is in the relation to this country which was awarded as “Top Spot As The Preferred Halal Tourist Destination” by Master Card-Cresent Rating Global Muslim Index (GMTI) 2022.

    This first WITA will definately inspires global Islamic tourism players to work harder for their effort will be highly recognise in the next year WITA and years onwards.
