Jason Foo, CEO of BOH Plantations said, “The 19BCAA is special to BOH as it coincides with our 95th Anniversary. In retrospect, I see that there is much in common between perfecting the craftsmanship of tea and advancing the performing arts industry.

“Both require an unrelenting spirit with a strong sense of passion, dedication and commitment to master our respective crafts.

“Moving forward, BOH’s promise is to always invest in sustainabilitea efforts so we may continue brewing for tomorrow. The aim in our brand journey is to share our great tasting teas with future generations even as we enhance the wellness of communities we serve.

“I am confident the performing arts industry will also continue to nurture the growth of creative expressions and drive excellence in the years ahead. Here’s a ‘tea toast’ to the 19BCAA and all performing artists in Malaysia.”

Low Ngai Yuen, President of Kakiseni said: “As we unveil the nominations for the 19BCAA, it’s crucial to recognise the relentless dedication poured both on and off stage. These nods are not just about talent – they are about recognising the excellence showcased through countless hours of hustle and passion synonymous with Malaysia’s performing arts community. This is the 19th year of the BOH Cameronian Arts Awards so let’s take a moment to acknowledge the legacy here.

“The BCAA has been a steadfast champion of excellence for almost two decades, dedicated to recognising the very best. In addition, it’s essential to highlight that continuous efforts in judging and innovation in the performing arts are being recognised. As we witness changes that are taking place, the way we view excellence is also evolving. The BCAA embraces this evolution, ensuring that innovation and adaptability are valued alongside tradition and mastery.

“There will be updates and tweaks to the judging formats and methodologies in time for the next BCAA. This is the Awards’ commitment to staying relevant and responsive to the dynamic nature of the performing arts scene. Here’s to honouring that legacy and continuing to elevate our extraordinary talents for years to come.”

This year’s theme Pentas Kehidupan: Meneroka Tanpa Batasan, has been chosen to celebrate the boundless exploration of creativity within the performing arts community. From the mundane to the extraordinary, our life experiences serve as the ultimate muse for innovation and imagination, and we want to acknowledge and pay tribute to the transformative power of art as well as the richness and complexity of the human experience.
