  • Leader Energy and BASF Join Hands: A Milestone MOU

    SELANGOR, 5 OCTOBER 2023 – Leader Energy Holding Berhad (“Leader Energy”), through its wholly-owned subsidiary Leader Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd, inked a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) today with BASF Stationary Energy Storage GmbH (“BSES”). BSES, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the German chemical company BASF SE, holds the exclusive global distribution rights for sodium-sulphur batteries (“NAS® Batteries”) manufactured by NGK Insulators, Ltd., Japan. Leader Energy, in collaboration with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities, operates as an independent power producer primarily engaged in the development, ownership, operations, and maintenance of power assets and projects.

    Under the MOU, Leader Energy and BSES intend to establish a strategic partnership to promote the development of long-duration energy storage (“LDES”) projects in Southeast Asia including Malaysia. Leader Energy seeks to deliver comprehensive turnkey solutions for these projects and use NAS® Batteries which will be supplied by BSES. Pursuant to this, Leader Energy has identified 8 LDES projects with a total estimated value of RM1.8 billion.

    Leader Energy’s Executive Deputy Chairman, Dato’ Sean H’ng said, “As we embark on our continuous pursuit towards net zero emissions, we are proud to announce our strategic partnership with BSES. Our commitment towards sustainability is evident as showcased by the list of projects we intend to be involved in using NAS® Batteries. This collaboration will allow us to leverage on each other’s skillset to penetrate further into the power industry in Southeast Asia while offering more comprehensive solutions which will make renewable energy a more reliable and viable option. In addition, it will alleviate the concerns for night time practicality, when solar irradiance is unavailable. Ultimately, we intend to encourage others to gradually embrace the push towards a more sustainable future.”

  • Advancing Innovation: Leader Energy and BMW Group Malaysia Join Forces

    SELANGOR, 6 OCTOBER 2023 – Leader Energy Holding Berhad, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Leader EV Solutions Sdn Bhd, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BMW Malaysia Sdn Bhd. The MOU aims to feature the BMW brand at all of Leader EV’s Galaxy Charge stations along the North-South Highway in Malaysia and collaborate on campaigns to promote vehicle charging for BMW-affiliated brands at Leader EV’s Galaxy Charge network. Leader Energy, along with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities, is an independent power producer primarily engaged in the development, ownership, operation, and maintenance of power assets and projects.

    Under the MOU, Leader EV will be responsible for the development, installation, operation and maintenance of the Galaxy Charge network. In addition, Leader EV is to actively promote and create awareness on electric vehicle charging technology while BMW is to fulfil the access of public charging solutions via a subscription or members programme through Leader EV’s Galaxy Charge network.

  • Leader Energy and Solarvest Collaborate for Regional Ventures in Renewable Energy

    SELANGOR, 6 OCTOBER 2023 – Leader Energy Holding Berhad (“Leader Energy”) and Solarvest Holdings Berhad (“Solarvest”) have taken a significant step towards advancing sustainable initiatives within the Southeast Asia (“SEA”) region. The Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) signed by both entities signifies their shared commitment to exploring and developing projects that prioritize sustainability, including renewable energy ventures and eco-friendly initiatives. This collaboration underscores their dedication to promoting clean energy adoption and fostering environmental responsibility across the region. Leader Energy, alongside its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities, continues to play a pivotal role as an independent power producer, actively engaged in the development, ownership, operations, and maintenance of various power projects, bolstering sustainability efforts in the energy sector.

    Under the MOU, the collaboration will primarily focus on the exploration and development of renewable energy, including solar energy, battery energy storage systems, Energy-as-a-Service, as well as other sustainable energy applications. The partnership aims to leverage on the expertise of both parties to deliver innovative solutions within the SEA region and ultimately contribute to the achievement of net-zero emissions goal.
