    Ku Percaya: Single Terbaru dari Kat Roshan

    Penyanyi dan pencipta lagu yang sedang naik daun, Kat Roshan, baru sahaja melancarkan single terbarunya, “Ku Percaya.” Lagu ini menyampaikan perjalanan yang jujur mengenai cinta tak berbalas dari perspektif seorang gadis yang percaya telah menemui cinta sejatinya, tetapi akhirnya berdepan dengan kekecewaan. “Ku Percaya” menangkap perasaan pahit-manis dari hubungan yang, meskipun indah dan harmonis, berakhir dengan rasa kecewa dan penyesalan, mencerminkan harapan yang tidak berbaloi.

    “Ku Percaya” menggambarkan kebahagiaan sementara dan perpisahan yang tidak diingini antara dua jiwa yang pernah bertemu tetapi tidak dapat bersama. Liriknya merangkum inti dari pengalaman cinta yang mendalam yang berakhir dengan kekecewaan, namun memberikan pengajaran berharga dalam perjalanan hidup.

    “Lagu ini mengisahkan tentang cabaran dalam cinta dan hubungan,” kata Kat. “Ia menggambarkan pengalaman umum berhadapan dengan cinta romantik yang tidak kekal, serta pentingnya untuk belajar daripada pengalaman tersebut daripada terperangkap dalam penyesalan.”

    Dalam video lirik “Ku Percaya,” Kat ditampilkan dalam adegan yang emosional mengenai seorang watak yang terjebak dalam kekeliruan antara realiti dan fantasi selepas kehilangan cinta. Walaupun temanya melankolia, lagu ini tetap mempunyai tempo ceria, menggambarkan perjuangan watak utama dalam menghadapi kenyataan.

    Ketika berkolaborasi dengan komposer terkenal Chossy Pratama dari Timor, Kat menyedari nilai kerjasama dengan orang lain dalam projek ini. Kat mengatakan bahawa muzik Chossy Pratama sentiasa mempunyai makna mendalam baginya. Pemahaman Chossy tentang matlamatnya sebagai artis dan sikap terbukanya terhadap kerjasama telah memainkan peranan penting dalam penghasilan lagu ini.

    “Saya berharap ‘Ku Percaya’ dapat menyentuh hati pendengar saya di Malaysia dan Indonesia,” kata Kat mengenai harapannya untuk lagu ini. “Saya ingin berhubung dengan pendengar pada tahap yang lebih mendalam dan terus berkembang sebagai seorang artis, meneroka tema-tema yang peribadi dan universal.”

    “Ku Percaya” akan tersedia di semua platform digital seperti Spotify, Apple Music, dan YouTube Music mulai 16 Julai 2024. Selain itu, video liriknya juga telah ditayangkan secara eksklusif di saluran YouTube rasmi Universal Music Malaysia.

  • MALAYSIA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2024 APPLICATION OPENS, FINAS CHAIRMAN APPLAUDS EFFORTS TO SPUR COUNTRY’S DIGITAL CREATIVE TALENT DEVELOPMENT

    With two categories available, the CCC’s Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) Malaysia National Championship 2024 & Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Malaysia National Championship 2024, Creative Cloud Community and Acestar proudly launched the 9th Annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Event – Malaysia National Championship 2024. Today’s event at Nexus @ CCEC, Bangsar South, presided over by Dato’ Kamil Othman, Chairman of the National Film Development Corporation (FINAS), and it has the potential to spark a new chapter in the history of creativity and education, talent development, and social consciousness in the nation.

    Open to youths aged 13 to 22 years old in both categories through official registration by educational institutions at the secondary and tertiary levels, the CCC’s Adobe Certified Professional Malaysia National Championship category, currently in its 9th series, tests the participants’ skills in creating creative content using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign based on themes set by the organizer in collaboration with NGO Program Strategic Partners in February 2024. They will go through four qualifying stages to reach the CCC’s Adobe Certified Professional Malaysia National Championship 2024 Grand Finale where the Grand Champion will be chosen. The Grand Champion of this category will be exclusively sponsored by Acestar to represent the country in the Certiport’s Adobe Certified Professional World Championship 2024.

    Meanwhile, the Microsoft Office Specialist Malaysia National Championship 2024, the fourth time it is held in Malaysia, will assess participants’ abilities in using Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with each software having its own criteria and evaluation. Participants will undergo three qualifying stages before the Grand Finale, where the winners will be announced.

    Adjunct Professor Natalie Sit, Group CEO of Acestar and Founder of the Creative Cloud Community, unveiled an ambitious vision during the event – to upskill 10% of Malaysia’s population through Micro-Credentials Certifications Program. This groundbreaking initiative marks a pivotal step towards nurturing a skilled workforce and fortifying the growth of a certified talent pool in Malaysia.

    “I’ve set an ambitious mission—to elevate this passion project to a national project, to certify and upskill 3 millions youth. I know it may seem impossible to achieve, but consider this: if we can upskill 10% of our population, there’s hope for the future. We are preparing our youth to take over the world in the next 10 years.” explained Sit in her opening address.

    Meanwhile, Kamil expressed his hope in his officiating remark, “(Our GDP) figures are projected to continue rising in the next 10 or 20 years if young digital talents are continuously encouraged and supported by educational institutions, whether secondary or tertiary, to participate in talent development opportunities like these (the championship).”

    Keynote speeches by representatives from Department of Education Resources and Technology from Ministry of Education Malaysia, Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp), Adobe and Microsoft (Malaysia) illuminated diverse perspectives on youth empowerment in the digital age, the profound influence on digital economics, human resources, and the transformative impact of micro-credentials certifications in higher education. These compelling discussions fostered dialogues that are intended to spur innovation in the educational sector, fostering an environment ripe for change.

    Moreover, engaging panel sessions featured insights from 2023 champions and representative from higher educational institutions such as Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) Campus Pagoh and KLMUC, delving into the exceptional achievements attained through Micro-Credentials, offering valuable perspectives from the champions’ past experiences in the competition as well as in representing Malaysia on the world stage. Additionally, the panelists from educational institutions will unveil and articulate the best practices of the micro-credentials program at the national level. This initiative goes beyond simply upskilling talents; it aims to empower digital skills, enhancing international marketability.

    Furthermore, the event paved the way for Malaysian youth talents to embark on an international journey in showcasing their digital creative talents. As a prelude to this global endeavor, the competition will see the top three winners in each category participate in the Certiport’s Adobe Certified Professional World Championship 2024 and Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship 2024 in Anaheim, California, United States of America (USA), expected to be held on July 28-31, 2024.

    Having seen participations from over 6,000 youths since 2016, the 9th Annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Event, Malaysia National Championship 2024, stands as a testament to the dedication and commitment of Acestar and the Creative Cloud Community, as well as the digital creative and digital economy stakeholders, spearheaded by FINAS and MDEC respectively, to foster a conducive environment for digital creative talent development, social advocacy, and educational transformation. Educational institutions are encouraged to enroll and get their students to register for the championship before it kicks off in February 2024.

  • KEMPEN ‘BERSAMA DEMI SEMUA UNTUK TABUNG BANTUAN MANGSA BANJIR DI MALAYSIA

    SUBANG JAYA, 7 November 2023 – Procter & Gamble (P&G) dan MYDIN melancarkan kempen “BERSAMA DEMI SEMUA”  untuk dana bantuan banjir masa musim tengkujuh. Syarikat barangan pengguna global dan syarikat borong dan runcit tempatan bersama menjayakan kempen untuk tabung bantuan mangsa banjir. Hal ini, untuk memberikan bantuan kepada masyarakat yang terlibat dengan banjir pada musim tengkujuh pada setiap tahun yang berlaku di Malaysia. Bantuan ini dapat meringankan beban masyarakat yang terkesan dengan banjir.

    Bermula 1 November, 2023 hingga 6 Januari, 2024, setiap pembelian produk P&G bernilai RM10 dari mana-mana pasar raya MYDIN, 5 sen akan disumbangkan kepada tabung bermakna ini. Ketika tempoh kempen berakhir, pasar raya MYDIN akan menjadi pusat perolehan barangan keperluan yang akan diagihkan kepada mangsa banjir.

  • INDONESIA GIVES THE BATON TO MALAYSIA

  • PERAYAAN DEEPAVALI MULTISENSORI CAHAYA DAN BUDAYA

     Kuala Lumpur, 3 November 2023 – Sambutan Deepavali akan diadakan di Suria KLCC. Perayaan ini bertemakan “ Gemerlapan Taman Cahaya”. Acara ini bermula dari 3 November hingga 15 November 2023 ini. Semua pengunjung di jemput hadir bagi memeriahkan lagi perayaan yang memukau ini. Nikmati lah pemandangan yang menarik selama acara ini berlangsung di Suria KLCC. Terdapat rekaan taman yang di hiasi bunga-bunga yang indah dan hayunan buaian yang menjadi tarikan pengunjung untuk merakam detik indah ini.

     

    Dekorasi “kolam” interaktif bersaiz 20 kaki bakal menyambut pengunjung di ‘Centre Court’. Ianya mampu berputar dan memancarkan cahaya mengikut interaksi pengunjung. Suasana bakal dimeriahkan lagi dengan hiasan sebuah replika burung merak setinggi tujuh kaki. Ekor interaktif sepanjang 32 kaki mampu berkembang penuh gemalai dan begemerlapan mengikut interaksi pengunjung. Diilhamkan daripada bunga tiruan serta beras berwarna, ianya seolah olah hidup.

     

     Hiasan berwarna warni beserta penataan lampu dan kesan bunyi bakal bakal membangkitkan semangat perayaan cahaya ini. 

     

    Pada hujung minggu pula, para pengunjung bakal disajikan dengan persembahan n tarian tradisional kaum India di ‘Centre Court’. Alunan lagu lagu Deepavali terpilih juga boleh dinikmati di seluruh pusat membeli-belah untuk meningkatkan suasana perayaan ini.

     

     “Deepavali ialah masa yang amat bermakna, ianya melambangkan kejayaan cahaya mengatasi kegelapan, kebaikan mengatasi kejahatan, dan pengetahuan mengatasi kejahilan.   • Permotoran Malaysia Bergelora dengan Event Legacy Rider 2.0

    Program Legacy Rider 1.0 yang diadakan di Taman Ekspo Pertanian Malaysia (MAEPS) Serdang pada 29 Oktober tahun lalu berjaya menghimpunkan lebih 50,000 peminat sukan permotoran di negara kita. Program ini merupakan anjuran Legacy Rider dengan kerjasama daripada pelbagai pihak termasuk Konsortium Industri Rakaman Muzik Malaysia (IRAMA), Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), PUNB Malaysia, PERNAS, dan GISB Holding. Sambutan positif yang diterima telah membara semangat Legacy Rider untuk menganjurkan Event Legacy Rider 2.0 yang dijadualkan pada 27 dan 28 Oktober 2023 (Jumaat dan Sabtu) di KL Base, yang terletak di Bekas Lapangan Terbang Sungai Besi.

    Lokasi asal program iaitu di Stadium Shah Alam untuk acara itu kini berpindah ke Lapangan Terbang Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur memandangkan kedudukannya yang strategik dan sesuai untuk acara berstatus mega begini.

    Pengarah Urusan GGR Machine (M) Malaysia & Legacy Rider, Muhammad Musaddiq Mohamed Azmi Pengarah Urusan GGR Machine (M) Malaysia & Legacy Rider berkata, pihaknya menjangkakan edisi Event Legacy 2.0 akan diserbu oleh jumlah yang sama iaitu 50,000 hingga 60,00 pengunjung yang juga peminat sukan permotoran.

  • Konsert ‘ROCKMANTIC NIGHT’ Berjaya Menyentuh Jiwa Penonton.

    KUALA LUMPUR, 22 Oktober 2023 – Semalam, hampir 12,000 orang hadir untuk konsert ‘ROCKMANTIC NIGHT – JUDIKA & THE GANG’, yang memenuhi sepenuhnya Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil mulai jam 8:00 malam. Acara tersebut dipersembahkan khas oleh Dua Anak Deo (DAD) Management, syarikat penganjur acara dari Indonesia.

    “Saya ingin menyanyi habis-habisan kerana semangat ‘cinta’ yang diberikan oleh pembeli-pembeli tiket bukan sahaja dari Malaysia, bahkan juga Indonesia, Singapura serta Brunei agar dapat menghiburkan mereka semua sebaik dan juga semaksimal yang mungkin,” kata pemilik nama Judika Nalom Abadi Sihotang, 45.

  • Kejayaan Tayangan “magiK”: Merentasi Tujuh Lokasi Semenanjung Malaysia

    KUALA LUMPUR – Tayangan khas filem “magiK,” yang dianjurkan oleh syarikat produksi 42nd Pictures Sdn Bhd di bawah pimpinan pasangan suami isteri Yasu dan Bea Tanaka, telah mencapai kejayaan dalam mendekati penonton sasarannya.

    Menurut Bea, penerbit filem ini, tayangan istimewa “magiK” di tujuh lokasi berbeza di Semenanjung Malaysia melibatkan lapan sesi tayangan.

    “Setakat ini, pihak kami sudah berjaya mengadakan empat tayangan khas filem magiK bersama penduduk setempat termasuk komuniti bermasalah pendengaran membabitkan        lokasi di Kuantan,Terengganu,Kedah dan YMCA, Kuala Lumpur.

    “Tayangan khas filem ini juga ialah versi ‘closed caption’ untuk memudahkan penonton dari komuniti bermasalah pendengaran,”katanya.

    Filem magiK yang bakal menemui penonton dipawagam seluruh Malaysia pada 30 November depan memaparkan gadis pekak berusia tujuh tahun, Kit yang ini tinggal di perkampungan terkenal dengan kelip-kelip.

    1. Kuantan

    Lokasi pertama untuk tayangan khas filem magiK adalah di Kuantan, Pahang. Menurut pengarah filem ini, Tanaka, lokasi ini dipilih kerana penggambaran filem magiK berlangsung diKampung Kuantan, Kuala Selangor yang terkenal dengan kelip-kelip.

    “Ramai penonton yang bertanya mengenai maksud huruf besar K yang juga judul filem magiK pada tayangan khas itu.

    “Saya menjelaskan kepada mereka huruf besar K itu melambangkan banyak perkara.“K adakah Kit (nama watak utama), K juga bermaksud kelip-kelip dan komunikasi serta K juga bermaksud Kuantan,”katanya.

    Tanaka berkata, selalunya dia akan mendapat idea baru dan inspirasi untuk menghasilkan skrip bila mengunjungi lokasi yang unik dan menarik di Malaysia. Katanya, dia juga boleh menyelami adat dan budaya masyarakat tempatan di setiap lokasi yang dikunjungi.

    “Terima kasih kepada pihak yang membantu menjayakan tayangan khas filem magiK di sana iaitu Addy Haikal, Warung Adri dan Pameran Seni Haram yang menjadi tuan rumah di Kuantan.

    “Mereka juga tidak sabar untuk mengembangkan komuniti seni di Kuantan melalui pelbagai bentuk seni seperti muzik dan filem,” katanya.

    Tidak ketinggalan, kata Tanaka, dia dan Bea turut berpeluang mempromosikan buku terbaru terbitan mereka berjudul “Visual Story Telling 2: How to Meet 42nd Sheep” dengan Pameran Seni Haram.

    “Syarikat produksi, 42nd Pictures lazim mengadakan kelas “Visual Storytelling” dan menggunakan buku karya mereka sebagai buku teks,” katanya.

     

    1. Terengganu

    Tayangan khas kedua filem magiK membabitkan lokasi di tepi pantai yang indah dan terkenal dengan tempat penyu bertelur untuk konservasi penyu iaitu Pantai Telaga Papan di Setiu, Kuala Terengganu.

    Menurut Tanaka, lokasi itu dipilih kerana ia bersesuaian dengan filem magiK yang juga menyentuh konservasi kelip-kelip.

    “Namun, lokasi itu paling sukar untuk kami meletakkan peralatan seperti projektor, pembesar suara dan skrin layer untuk tayangan wayang pacak diluar, katanya.

    Kata Tanaka lagi, magiK juga menyentuh isu alam sekitar dan karya dihasilkan juga sentiasa menekankan kepentingan komunikasi yang harmoni antara alam semula jadi dan manusia.

    “Seperti filem kami sebelum ini, Nota, kisah berlaku di tepi sungai dan seterusnya dilaut.

    “Seperti perubahan alam semula jadi mengajar kita bagaimana untuk hidup dengan aliran kitaran dan bukan melawannya seperti cuaca dan alam.

    “Malangnya, pihak kami tidak dapat menyampaikan filem magiK kepada masyarakat tempatan kerana hujan turun dengan lebatnya ketika tayangan filem itu di sana dan kami perlu meneruskan perjalanan lokasi seterusnya pada keesokan paginya,” katanya.

    1. Kedah

    Perjalanan paling jauh sempena tayangan khas filem magiK ialah dari Setiu,Kuala Terengganu ke Sungai Petani, Kedah. Tayangan khas di sana berlangsung di SPace08000.

    Menurut Tanaka,di Sungai Petani, SPace08000, telah menjadikan jalan belakang dan bangunan lama sebagai landasan untuk komuniti seni dan belia.

    Mereka saling membantu untuk berkembang dan terus bertahan. “Tayangan khas filem magiK disana juga dapat menarik pelbagai golongan masyarakat seperti pasangan guru yang mengajar golongan pekak sama seperti Bea.

    “Selain itu, ada lelaki Jepun yang menetap di Malaysia dan memberi sokongan kepada golongan OKU serta nama keluarganya juga Tanaka. Pada masa yang sama, ada juga pasangan pelancong dari Indonesia,” katanya.

    “Kita dapat kenalan baru dikalangan menonton tayangan khas filem magiK di lokasi terpilih dan setiap pertemuan adalah tidak ternilai,” katanya.

    1. YMCA, Kuala Lumpur

    Minggu Orang Pekak Antarabangsa sedunia di sambut pada hari ahad terakhir, September. Pelbagai acara dianjurkan untuk meraikan hari terbabit, dan Tanaka dan Bea memilih untuk mengadakan tayangan filem magiK di YMCA, Kuala Lumpur.

    Pasangan suami isteri ini berharap filem magiK akan menyumbang pengiktirafan kepada golongan bermasalah pendengaran.

    Bea yang juga bekas guru pendidikan khas masalah pendengaran selama 15 tahun berkata, mereka juga mahu berkongsi filem itu dengan komuniti bermasalah pendengaran sebanyak yang boleh.

    “Pihak kami bersyukur kerana YMCA, Kuala Lumpur menganjurkan tayangan khas sempena Minggu Orang Pekak Antarabangsa pada tahun ini dan ia sangat sesuai dengan filem magiK,filem mengenai seorang gadis pekak.

    “Barisan pelakon filem magiK yang turut hadir untuk tayangan khas ini ialah Qisya Hairulzain (watak utama Kit), Tengku Carmeela (Kit dewasa), Chacko Vadaketh (Zack). Carmeela juga pekak    dan ia juga penampilan pertamanya di layar filem,” katanya.

    Sementara itu,Tanaka dan Bea berkata, melihat reaksi penonton secara langsung pada tayangan khas dilokasi terpilih itu adalah kepuasan sebenar mereka setelah menghabiskan banyak masa dan tenaga untuk menyiapkan filem itu.

    “magiK adalah mengenai komunikasi. Ia adalah kisah mengenai sebuah keluarga di perkampungan yang terkenal dengan kelip-kelip.

    “Pihak kami bertemu dengan ramai orang sepanjang tayangan khas ini dimana mereka juga mempunyai kehidupan dan masalah mereka sendiri,” katanya.

    Kata Tanaka lagi, ada yang cuba bertahan dan ada yang meneruskan minat mereka dalam pelbagai bentuk seni.

    “Setiap bandar mempunyai komuniti seni mereka sendiri dan mereka juga berjuang untuk terus berkembang maju.

    “Kami juga merasakan sangat dekat dengan mereka sebagai pembikin filem Indie,” katanya.

  • UNPACKING THE DATA: MALAYSIA’S 2022 FERTILITY RATE REACHES ALL-TIME LOW.

    Released today, the 2023 Vital Statistics report from the Department of Statistics, Malaysia, offers a comprehensive overview of birth and death statistics for the year 2022. The data is meticulously categorized by demographic characteristics at the national, state, and administrative district levels. These statistics, which capture pivotal life events, play a pivotal role in informing policy decisions and guiding the development of programs in areas such as population management, healthcare, education, employment, and various other sectors.

    Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohd Uzir Mahidin, Chief Statistician Malaysia, highlighted that “the total fertility rate (TFR) in 2022 declined to 1.6 children for every woman aged 15–49 years as compared to 1.7 children in 2021. This fertility rate was the lowest in five decades.

    4.9 children per woman in 1970 Since 1970 up to 2012, the national TFR was still above the replacement level of 2.1 children, which indicates that the average number of children born per woman throughout her reproductive life has been sufficient to replace herself and her partner. However, the TFR started to decline below the replacement level from 2013 onwards. This declining trend in fertility rate is signaling the potential for a demographic crisis, such as population growth shrinking, an aging population, and economic and social implications. Based on the Principles and Recommendations for A Vital Statistics (Revision 3), United Nations Statistics Division (2014) manual, the replacement level of 2.1 children is the average number of children a woman would need to give birth by bearing a daughter who survives to childbearing age. If the replacement level of fertility is sustained over a sufficiently long period, each generation will exactly replace herself and her partner regardless of population migration”.

    For the period of 2011 to 2022, the TFR for all major ethnic groups in Malaysia has shown a declining trend. The highest TFR was recorded by Malay, with 2.1 children per woman aged 15–49 years. Meanwhile, Chinese recorded the lowest TFR of 0.8 children. At the state level, all states recorded TFR below the replacement level except three, namely Terengganu (2.9 children), Kelantan (2.7 children), and Pahang (2.1 children).

    Malaysia, along with several developed countries such as the United States of America (1.7 children), Australia (1.7 children), the United Kingdom   (1.6   children),   Japan (1.3 children), and the Republic of Korea (0.8 children), have observed a trend of fertility rates falling below the replacement level. Similar trends have also been observed in ASEAN countries, namely Viet Nam (1.9 children), Brunei Darussalam (1.8 children), Thailand (1.3 children), and Singapore (1.1 children), while the Philippines (2.7 children), Lao PDR (2.5 children), Cambodia (2.3 children), Indonesia (2.2 children), and Myanmar (2.2 children) were above the replacement level.

    For the past five decades, TFR has been declining in all selected countries, with a varying declining pace according to their level of fertility. There are few countries that have faced a decline in the level of TFR below the level much earlier, namely the United Kingdom (1973: 2.0 children), Japan (1975: 1.9 children), and France.

    (1976: 2.0 children), Australia (1977: 2.0 children), and Singapore (1977: 1.8 children). Therefore, France and the United Kingdom have proactively responded to the issue of declining TFR, which could potentially lead to a demographic crisis. They have pursued a strategy of increased migration to bolster their population numbers and labor forces. This approach aims to mitigate the potential economic and demographic challenges associated with declining fertility rates, such as aging populations and labor shortages.

    Meanwhile, he also added, “The number of live births was 423,124 births in 2022, a decrease of 3.8 percent (16,620 births) as compared to 439,744 births in 2021. More male newborns were recorded than females, with 218,345 and 204,779, respectively.

    The decline in the number of live births has contributed to the decline in the crude birth rate (CBR) from 13.5 births in 2021 to 12.9 births per thousand population in 2022.

    All states recorded a decrease in CBR in 2022 as compared to 2021 except for Sabah, which showed an increase from 12.2 (2021) births to 12.8 (2022) births per thousand population. This report also presents the number of live births and CBR at the administrative district level in Malaysia. The highest CBR in 2022 was recorded by the districts of Song, Sarawak, and Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, with both districts recording 4.3 births per thousand population. Meanwhile, Kinabatangan, Sabah, recorded the lowest rate of 4.6 births.

    Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohd Uzir Mahidin also said, “The number of deaths in 2022 was 206,525 deaths, a decrease of 8.0 percent (18,044 deaths) as compared to 224,569 deaths in 2021 after the COVID-19 pandemic. The crude death rate (CDR) also recorded a decrease from 6.9 (2021) to 6.3 (2022) deaths per thousand population. The number of male deaths in 2022 was 117,790, or 57.0 percent of the total deaths. Meanwhile, female deaths were 88,735 (43.0%)”.

    Besides that, CDR for most states decreased in 2022 as compared to 2021, except Perlis, Pahang, Perak, and Terengganu. W.P. Kuala Lumpur recorded the highest decrease of 1.7 points, from 6.8 (2021) deaths to 5.1 (2022) deaths per thousand population. Looking at the administrative district level, Kanowit and Song, Sarawak, recorded the highest CDR in 2022 with 14.3 deaths per thousand population, followed by Bukit Mabong, Sarawak (13.0), Selama, Perak (12.2), and Maradong, Sarawak (12.0). Meanwhile, the Kinabatangan district in Sabah recorded the lowest CDR with 1.9 deaths per thousand population, followed by Kalabakan, Sabah (2.0), and Samarahan, Sarawak (2.4).

    He added, “All age groups recorded a decrease in the number of deaths except those aged 0–14 years, which increased from 4,115 deaths to 4,754 deaths in 2022. The number of deaths aged 41–59 recorded the highest decrease, with a 20.4 percent decrease from 52,282 (2021) deaths to 41,640 deaths in 2022. Besides, the number of deaths for aged
    15–40 years and 60 years and over also recorded a decrease from 17,953 deaths to 14,830 deaths and 150,219 deaths to 145,301 deaths, respectively”.

Kalau boleh memang nak buat di setiap negeri, tapi itu akan diuruskan kemudian. Jadi, nantikan pengumuman dari sesame ke semasa,” katanya.

    Menariknya, Amir adalah artis pertama yang membuat persembahan di Hard Rock Café Melaka bersempena ulang tahun ke-10 mereka.

    “Pihak Hard Rock Cafe juga ada umumkan satu perkara yang istimewa untuk ‘album tour’ saya ini. Saya adalah artis pertama yang membuat persembahan pada hari ulang tahun ke-10 mereka. Apabila dapat tahu saya terkejut sebab bukan senang untuk menyanyi di Hard Rock apatah lagi mengadakan ‘showcase’ di situ,” katanya.

  • NATIONAL GAMING GLORY: MALAYSIA ESPORTS LEAGUE (MEL23) TAKES OFF.

    The upcoming weekend will witness the highly anticipated Malaysia Esports League 2023 Nationals (MEL23). Within the realm of esports, MEL23 assumes a crucial position in the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ (KBS) dedicated pursuit of establishing a robust and inclusive environment. This endeavor harmoniously corresponds with the objectives set forth in the KBS Esports Strategic Development Plan, which aims to create a solid foundation for the enduring prosperity of the esports industry.

    The MEL23 State League has already ended recently, and then the National League follows this week according to the following schedule:

    Champions for each game title in 13 states and 3 federal territories will gather at the ESI Hub, Spacerubix, and Puchong to win the title of MEL23 National Level Champion.

    The Malaysia Esports League is a competitive competition platform for local grassroots talent under the management of KBS and Impact Integrated through Esports Integrated (ESI).

    MEL, which is entering its 3rd year of organizing this year, will feature three (3) game titles at the state and national level, namely Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), PUBG Mobile, and eFootball Mobile, while for the open series, three (3) game titles will be contested, namely eFootball Console, Valorant, and Counter-Strike 2. For all six (6) game titles that will be contested at MEL23, participants will win accumulated prize money amounting to RM 317,400.00.

    MEL23 is an inclusive esports competition platform for local grassroots talents that is organized by KBS in collaboration with Impact Integrated through Esports Integrated (ESI). The initiative of MEL23 is the result of a partnership between KBS, ESI, and 16 States and Federal Territories Esports Associations. Besides that, MEL23 this year is supported by Goodday Milk (the official beverage partner), Rakita 107.9, What’s The Meta (the media partner), Rakan Muda (the collaborative partner), and MPL Malaysia.

     

  • Leader Energy and BASF Join Hands: A Milestone MOU

    SELANGOR, 5 OCTOBER 2023 – Leader Energy Holding Berhad (“Leader Energy”), through its wholly-owned subsidiary Leader Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd, inked a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) today with BASF Stationary Energy Storage GmbH (“BSES”). BSES, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the German chemical company BASF SE, holds the exclusive global distribution rights for sodium-sulphur batteries (“NAS® Batteries”) manufactured by NGK Insulators, Ltd., Japan. Leader Energy, in collaboration with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities, operates as an independent power producer primarily engaged in the development, ownership, operations, and maintenance of power assets and projects.

    Under the MOU, Leader Energy and BSES intend to establish a strategic partnership to promote the development of long-duration energy storage (“LDES”) projects in Southeast Asia including Malaysia. Leader Energy seeks to deliver comprehensive turnkey solutions for these projects and use NAS® Batteries which will be supplied by BSES. Pursuant to this, Leader Energy has identified 8 LDES projects with a total estimated value of RM1.8 billion.

  • Kerjasama Wonda Coffee dan FAM Membawa Bola Sepak ke Tahap Baharu

    KUALA LUMPUR, 12 Oktober 2023 – Wonda Coffee, yang dikenali sebagai jenama kopi terkenal di Malaysia, telah menjalin kerjasama strategik dengan Persatuan Bola Sepak Malaysia (FAM) untuk menyokong dan menggalakkan peminat bola sepak dan pasukan bola sepak Harimau Malaya.

  • Bursa Malaysia Launches Innovative Voluntary Carbon Exchange with Shariah Compliance

    Kuala Lumpur, 26 September 2023 − The commencement of trading at Bursa Carbon Exchange marks a significant milestone in Malaysia’s sustainable financial landscape. Bursa Malaysia Berhad’s subsidiary, BCX, facilitated the trading of carbon credits, reflecting the nation’s proactive stance towards fostering a low-carbon economy and encouraging corporate responsibility. The successful transactions involving 16,500 Verra-registered carbon credits affirm the growing interest and participation in the voluntary carbon market (“VCM”), reinforcing Malaysia’s position in the global sustainability arena.

    “We are pleased with the successful go-live of the BCX trading platform. Bursa Malaysia’s efforts and agility underscores our speed-to-market in fulfilling a national mandate to facilitate the country’s shift towards a lower carbon economy,” said Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift, Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia.

    For the commencement of trading, two standardised contracts were offered – the Global Technology-Based Carbon Contract (“GTC”), focusing on global technology-based greenhouse gas (“GHG”) reduction projects, and the Global Nature-Based Plus Carbon Contract (“GNC+”), which features global nature-based GHG reduction projects with co-benefits in the Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (“AFOLU”) sector.

While the participation of large corporations remains vital, this shift indicates that there is wider embrace of sustainability practices, which suggests future broader demand for decarbonisation projects,” added Datuk Umar.

    “Our aspiration is to offer a variety of environmental solutions based on market needs. We have received increasing requests from corporates seeking an independent and cost-effective platform for renewable energy certificates (RECs) transactions. Thus, we are pleased to announce our intent to offer RECs on BCX by the third quarter of next year. As a trusted and experienced exchange operator, Bursa Malaysia has a key role in the national energy transition, which is to facilitate financing in low carbon technologies, and accelerating availability of RECs,” Datuk Umar elaborated.

    The BCX is one of the many initiatives by the Exchange to complement proactive efforts by Malaysian companies to reduce their impact to the environment. “BCX will take time to build liquidity as it is in its infancy stage. In time, we are confident that our various ecosystem building efforts and offering of high quality environmental solutions will surely gain traction. We urge leading companies to step up and be early active participants of the BCX, either as a supplier or a buyer,” stated Datuk Umar.

    BCX is currently waiving its onboarding fee and offering a discount on its trading fee until the end of 2023. Companies who have yet to onboard or trade are encouraged to take advantage of the offer before the year ends. The BCX trading platform was co-designed and developed with Deon Digital AG, which is headquartered in Switzerland.

  • Bursa Malaysia Takes a Bold Step: Introducing the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) Handbook

    Kuala Lumpur, 5 October 2023  – The release of Malaysia’s Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) Handbook at the Bursa Malaysia Carbon Market Forum 2023 showcased the country’s proactive stance towards sustainability. This handbook represents a pivotal step, providing clear guidance to both businesses and investors on participating in the voluntary carbon market, ultimately contributing to Malaysia’s transition to a low-carbon economy.

    The VCM Handbook is a collaborative effort between Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia” or the “Exchange”) and the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (“MGTC”), which was initiated through a memorandum of collaboration (“MOC”) signed on 20 February 2023. The VCM Handbook was developed in consultation with NRECC and various ecosystem participants.

    As Malaysia shifts towards becoming a lower carbon economy, the VCM Handbook is a relevant guide designed to assist entities keen on participating in carbon market project development and Malaysia’s voluntary carbon market. The handbook defines the roles and functions of key entities in Malaysia’s carbon market operations, serving as a reference point for market players.

    “We are delighted to complete the VCM Handbook within just six months of the MOC signing, and this demonstrates effective collaboration in fulfilling a need to nurture the development of carbon projects in Malaysia,” said Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift, Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia.

    “With the increasing prominence on carbon offsets and carbon markets globally, it is imperative that Malaysia acts on the nation’s untapped potential, by developing its VCM ecosystem and implementing high-quality carbon projects. This VCM Handbook is a critical step in ensuring Malaysia’s VCM can truly support the country’s net zero journey,” added Datuk Umar.

    “The VCM Handbook will be a valuable resource to facilitate carbon offset project implementation in Malaysia, where the carbon credit generated will be used by other corporations to meet their net zero targets. The VCM Handbook provides essential information on how it works, key concepts, standard methodologies, and case studies,” shared Ts. Shamsul Bahar Mohd Nor, Group Chief Executive Officer of MGTC.

    He added, “MGTC is honoured to collaborate with bursa Malaysia in developing it. We thank the numerous stakeholders, including federal ministries, state governments, relevant government agencies, carbon consultants, project developers, as well as validation and verification bodies, for their invaluable contributions.     Datuk Umar also shared plans to promote both the VCM Handbook and VCM Directory at the Malaysia Pavilion during the 2023 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 28) in Dubai later this year. “Our goal is to attract international project developers and investors to participate in the development of high-quality carbon projects in Malaysia, and facilitate the transfer of knowledge, skills and capital needed to rapidly scale up carbon initiatives in the country. This effort is pivotal in supporting domestic corporates in their net zero and carbon neutrality goals, and for fulfilment of the role of the Bursa Carbon Exchange,” he explained.

    The inaugural Malaysia Carbon Market Forum is a half-day event organised by the Bursa Carbon Exchange. With knowledge sharing as the central focus, the forum offered participants the opportunity to learn from both local and leading global experts on global VCM trends and how to leverage and navigate carbon markets and carbon project development.     KUALA LUMPUR, 5 OCTOBER 2023 – The second day of IGEM 2023 demonstrated an inspiring influx of partnerships, illustrating a shared vision for driving sustainability and fostering innovation. These collaborations underscore a collective dedication to advancing environmental solutions and embracing green technologies, paving the way for a more sustainable future in Malaysia and beyond.

    The MoC signing between Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) marks a significant step toward advancing energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives. The collaboration covers research partnerships focusing on Green Building assessment and renewable energy applications, knowledge exchange, publication sharing, and industry attachment programmes. It also aims to enhance sustainable energy management at UUM’s campus by achieving Energy Management Gold Standard certification and offering student capacity-building programmes. This collaboration will indirectly contribute to the green economy by promoting energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and environmental responsibility.

    Meanwhile, the MoC between MGTC and Mont Aero Sdn Bhd signals a joint commitment to develop hydrogen-related technologies focusing on hydrogen production and hydrogen gen-sets. The collaboration includes promoting hydrogen genset usage, converting landfill biogas into green hydrogen, and seeking government grants and funding. With an estimated investment value of RM15 million, this partnership aligns with Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and the Hydrogen Economy and Technology Roadmap. The aims of this MoC are rooted in environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, waste management, access to funding, national energy goals, and technological progress, all of which collectively contribute to a more sustainable and green energy landscape.

    On the other hand, the MoC between MGTC and SIRIM focuses on energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives to support the transition towards a sustainable energy future. The collaboration will explore initiatives related to biomass, biogas, and hydrogen, as well as knowledge sharing and utilising SIRIM labs. This partnership is expected to contribute significantly to Malaysia’s NETR regarding energy efficiency and renewable energy targets. It also seeks to harness expertise, resources, and innovative technologies to promote a greener and more sustainable energy future while fostering knowledge sharing, and quality research and development. Ultimately, these efforts align with global initiatives to combat climate change and ensure a cleaner, more sustainable energy landscape for the future.

    Furthermore, MGTC, along with Alya Agro Venture Sdn Bhd, Ain Biomass Industries Sdn Bhd, and Planters International Berhad, has signed an MoC to collaborate on a biomass project that utilises bamboo as feedstock for the production of bamboo pellets and bamboo biochar. This partnership includes the purchase of raw bamboo, expanding production, knowledge sharing, and engagement in nature-based carbon sequestration efforts. The MoC is also motivated by the desire to leverage bamboo as a sustainable feedstock and enhance production capabilities, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 7: Affordable and Clean Energy and SDG 13: Climate Action.

    Ts Shamsul Bahar Mohd Nor, GCEO of MGTC, explained, “This collaboration will contribute to the green economy by providing a renewable energy source, creating local jobs, promoting trade and export, and mitigating climate change through carbon sequestration. A pilot project on bamboo as biomass feedstock is underway to support the bioenergy transition and the NETR.”

    MGTC and Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) have also signed an MoC focusing on corporate sustainability by adopting the Low Carbon Operating System (LCOS), a cloud-based platform for carbon management. This collaboration was made to advance corporate sustainability, reduce carbon emissions, promote knowledge sharing, raise climate change awareness, adopt green technology solutions, provide access to green financing, and actively participate in global climate initiatives, all in alignment with environmental stewardship and climate action goals. BPMB will also partner with the Malaysia Pavilion at COP28 (Conference of Parties) as part of their commitment to environmental stewardship. Also present during the signing ceremony was YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change.

    The Green Technology Financing Scheme (GTFS) 4.0 launch highlights the financial support for various green sectors, including energy, manufacturing, transportation, building, waste, and water. The scheme provides attractive incentives to SMEs, mainly the 1.5% interest/profit rebate for the first five to seven years and a 60%-80% government guarantee on financing.  The appointed implementing agencies for GTFS 4.0 are MGTC and Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) (the scheme administrator). MGTC and CGC will collaborate with Participating Financial Institutions (PFIs) to encourage local companies and entrepreneurs to participate in green technology projects and support the national green technology agenda.

    Ts Shamsul Bahar added, “The collaborations announced on the second day of IGEM 2023 are poised to accelerate Malaysia’s transition to a sustainable, green future, driving economic growth, job creation, and environmental responsibility.”

    Penyanyi rap serba boleh dari Singapura, ALYPH, telah kembali dengan projek terbarunya yang berjudul ‘HEAT’. Single ini merupakan karya kedua dari beliau untuk tahun 2023, yang dirilis setelah kesuksesan single ‘CHECK’ pada bulan Februari.

    Dalam ‘HEAT’, ALYPH kembali mengajak pendengar untuk memahami lebih dalam pengalaman dan pikiran seorang pejuang hip-hop yang telah mencapai puncak kejayaan. Lagu ini mencerminkan keadaan seorang seniman yang telah mengalami banyak hal dalam hidupnya.

    Walaupun berada di puncak, pesan yang ingin disampaikan ALYPH adalah bahwa ada waktu di mana kita perlu berhenti sejenak, merenung, dan mengisi kembali semangat. Dalam karya ini, ALYPH ingin mengingatkan kita bahwa berhenti bukanlah kekalahan; ia adalah langkah yang penting dalam menjaga kreativitas dan semangat berkobar.

    Walaupun tajuknya mungkin menggambarkan sesuatu yang panas, ‘HEAT‘ seumpama kereta laju yang menelusuri persekitaran yang tidak dikenali. Setiap hari menawarkan sesuatu yang baru buat ALYPH – dia perlu membawa kehangatan, tetapi dia mesti melakukannya dengan tujuan yang betul.

    “Tuhan menguji / mental pernah trip / badan pernah trip/ tapi aku switch / get a grip,” nyanyi beliau dalam rap Bahasa Melayu dengan selingan piano dan rentak ‘trap’. Garis ini menjelaskan bagaimana beliau melihat ujian kehidupan sebagai ujian keyakinan dan kewaspadaan. Malah apabila dia keletihan, dia harus melatih dirinya untuk menukar tenaganya supaya meningkat kembali untuk langkah seterusnya.

    Kemudian di dalam lagu, beliau mendedahkan bahawa tenaga beliau datang daripada semangat serta keinginan seseorang yang pernah bermula dari bawah atau “rookie energy”, seperti yang beliau sebut dalam ayat permulaan – even as he continues to perform at the top of his game. “Ini bukan tentang membuktikan diri kepada sesiapa. Ia adalah tentang tidak mahu menjadi selesa kerana sentiasa ada sesuatu yang lebih besar yang saya mahu capai untuk diri sendiri,” katanya.

    “Ada banyak lagi yang boleh saya sumbang kepada ruang dan industri ini, lebih banyak cerita yang boleh saya ceritakan dan lebih banyak orang yang boleh saya capai. Tiada ‘tujuan’ tertentu yang saya mahu kecapi. Saya hanya mahu menjadi lebih besar dan lebih baik.”

    Bagi peminat ALYPH, mereka boleh mengharapkan lebih banyak lagi daripada bintang ini sesuai dengan perancangan yang ada di balik tabir. Walaupun ‘HEAT’ hanyalah single kedua buat tahun ini, terdapat banyak lagi yang akan muncul. “Ia berasa seperti saya sedang berlatih secara konsisten dan diam,” dedah beliau. “Sekarang, saya bersedia untuk menunjukkan kepada dunia apa yang saya boleh lakukan.” Pada tahun 2023, ALYPH membawa kehangatan yang hebat secara santai dengan hasil luar biasa.   • A Green Powerhouse: MGTC, Biotech Dinamik, and State Power Investment Corporation Unite to Develop Sustainable Energy Projects

    KUALA LUMPUR, 5 OCTOBER 2023: MALAYSIAN GREEN TECHNOLOGY AND CLIMATE CHANGE CORPORATION (MGTC) In a landmark agreement, Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) have entered into a strategic collaboration with Biotek Dinamik Sdn. Bhd., a distinguished renewable energy company committed to climate change mitigation and the decarbonization of the global economy. This partnership extends to a joint initiative with the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) of China, focusing on the development of green energy projects in Malaysia. Specifically, the collaboration aims to advance assets related to “Green Electrons” like Green Power (Electrons) and assets related to “Green Molecules” such as Green Hydrogen & Bioenergy (Molecules), highlighting the electronic and molecular aspects of green energy development, respectively.

    Datuk Eddy Yap, Chairman and CEO of Biotek Dinamik Sdn. Bhd. said, “In the final quarter of this year, the company plans to launch a 5 Gigawatts (5GW) green energy project, which is to be developed over the next 5 to 8 years, called the Asian Green Energy Belt (AGEB).     To ensure success in project rollout, Biotek Dinamik Sdn.     To ensure smooth and effective implementation of the AGEB project in Malaysia, MGTC is the project’s strategic partner and the enabler for the project to align with government policies, industrial guidelines and practices. In contrast, SPIC is the project’s EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning) partner and investor. Phase 1 (1st-3rd year) of the AGEB entails the development of 1GW of Solar to Hydrogen project. It is estimated to cost approximately RM5 billion. In contrast, Phase 2 of the project consists of developing 4GW of green energy (both Green Electrons and Green Molecules) projects estimated to cost RM20 billion. Therefore, total investment over the next 5-8 years for the planned 5GW project is estimated to cost some RM25 billion.

    Meanwhile, both parties expressed gratitude to the Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, for his presence at the event to witness the momentous occasion.
