As a result of the terrible flooding that has impacted many areas of Malaysia, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam) today announced the launch of the Prihatin Programme for Flood to help those customers who qualify for this programme who are affected by the flooding and need funding. Customers who have a house loan, a personal loan, or a car loan and have been affected by the disaster may request a postponement of their monthly payments for up to six (6) months, according to the terms and restrictions established.

In addition, Bank Islam also offers a free replacement for damaged or lost credit cards-i and debit cards-i and chequebooks.

In aiding the affected micro, small and medium-sized (MSMEs) businesses, Bank Islam is  offering the Disaster Relief Facility 2022 for MSMEs Affected by the Recent Floods to  Business Financing-i customers. Under this facility, the eligible micro-enterprise can apply  for a financing amount of up to RM150,000, while the financing size for SMEs is RM700,000  with a tenure of seven years, including a moratorium of six (6) months.

Meanwhile, a moratorium of up to six (6) months is also made available to Bank Islam’s  existing MSME customers affected in districts identified by The National Disaster  Management Agency (NADMA) as flood disaster areas. Financial assistance is open to  all credit facilities with scheduled or contractually due payments, specifically the Term  Financing Facilities, Revolving Credit & Cash Line Facilities and Trade Facilities.

Bank Islam Group Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Muazzam Mohamed, said, “Bank Islam has been keeping abreast with the latest updates on the situation in all affected areas.  Concerned with our customers’ challenges, we are taking proactive actions to ensure  simple documentation and approval processes for them.”

“The well-being of the communities has always been one of Bank Islam’s main priorities.  Therefore, we hope the Prihatin Programme for Flood and the two disaster relief facilities  for affected MSMEs can help relieve customers’ anxieties over their financial commitment  during this trying time,” Mohd Muazzam added.

Applications for financial relief under the Prihatin Programme for Flood can be made at  the nearest operating Bank Islam branches within three (3) months of the incident.

Ini merupakan pengalaman yang tidak dapat dilupai oleh Christine tambahan kawasan itu merupakan lokasi kejadian cerun runtuh yang melibatkan nyawa. “Kami hanya dibenarkan untuk memasuki kawasan tragedi selepas hari keempat dan itupun seorang sahaja dibenarkan masuk ke kawasan tersebut atas faktor keselamatan. Ini merupakan pengalaman baharu bagi saya apabila perlu merentasi selut hingga ke paras lutut. Walaupun bimbang dengan risiko yang ada, fikiran saya hanya fokus untuk mendapatkan laporan eksklusif dan yang terbaik untuk dikongsikan kepada penonton. Selesai misi kami, pasukan penyelamat menguruskan jengkaut untuk membawa keluar rakan-rakan media kerana lebih mudah.”

“Lokasi kejadian terbahagi kepada 3 bahagian dan rakaman hanya dibenarkan di sektor B. Dalam situasi getir ini, saya berasa sangat bersyukur kerana berjaya merakam kerja-kerja ‘Ground Penetrating Radar’ untuk mengesan mangsa-mangsa yang tertimbus. Terima kasih tidak terhingga kepada pihak berkuasa kerana banyak membantu kami dalam misi membuat laporan yang berkualiti. Dugaan mendapatkan kandungan ini adalah pengalaman paling berharga buat saya dan jurukamera. Walaupun pelbagai halangan dan cabaran dilalui, pasukan penyelamat tetap bertungkus-lumus menjalankan tanggungjawab mereka tanpa mengira siang ataupun malam.”

Food Aid Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that operates as a food bank, was presented with the Maxis Award RM150,000 in solutions and cash to support their efforts in distributing surplus food to needy people. Balan Kash is a man of many abilities; the multilingual award-winning rapper, singer, songwriter, and performer has been well-known in the Malaysian music scene for more than a decade. Over the course of his musical career, Balan has amassed over 20 million streams on digital platforms, having collaborated with artists like Joe Flizzow, Reshmonu, Anirudh Ravichander, Santesh, and more.

Having successfully tapped into the Kollywood and Tamil entertainment scene, Balan decided to set his sights on releasing ‘Terima Kasih’, his first Malay single for 2022. The upcoming single, which is a Cendana and My Creative grant-produced project, sees Balan collaborating with local Malaysian rocker, Hazama.

It’s that simple feeling of being able to wake up every day and still get to embrace it all – the good, the bad, the highs and the lows. “I’ve seen the amazing work Balan has released over the years,” said Hazama. “I was definitely excited to work together with such a big name in the Tamil music scene. There are so many talented local names that don’t get their fair share of the limelight, just because they don’t sing and perform in Malay – but at the end of the day, we’re all Malaysians, and I hope to see even more cross-language collaborations like this in future.”

The music video for ‘Terima Kasih’ is based on key moments that shaped Balan’s life – from being a struggling indie artiste, to having a whole stadium singing along to his song, ‘Start That Thiruvizha’ at Anirudh’s concert. “It was through my love and passion for music, that I managed to meet and work with my idols and many other talented individuals,” adds Balan. “It was also through years of hustling and working hard for what I love, that I managed to bring food to the table for my family. ‘Terima Kasih’ represents who I am today, and how I know I have done my best not only as an artiste, but as a son, a father, a husband and a friend.”

60 ahli sektor pelancongan telah pun dinobatkan sebagai pemenang Anugerah Industri Pelancongan Malaysia 2022. Pada malam yang gemilang untuk menghormati pencapaian dan sumbangan mereka kepada pertumbuhan negara. industri pelancongan, anugerah itu—yang buat pertama kalinya—diberikan kepada pemimpin industri.

Anugerah berprestij ini merupakan satu penghormatan dan penghargaan tertinggi kepada individu dan organisasi yang sumbangan cemerlangan mereka memainkan peranan penting dalam kejayaan industry pelancongan Malaysia. Majlis Anugerah Industri Pelancongan ini dianjurkan dengan Kerjasama Persatuan Agensi Pelancongan Malaysia (MATA) dan Santai Travel. Majlis ini turut dijayakan dengan Kerjasama rakan strategik yang terdiri daripada Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, Islamic Tourism Centre, Tourism Malaysia, MiTDA dan Hotel Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur.

Dia dapat mewujudkan dirinya sebagai individu yang unik bermula pada tahun-tahun awalnya. Populariti Shila Amzah meningkat selepas dia dan lagu kumpulan SOG “Pelukan Angkasa” memenangi “Anugerah Juara Lagu” ke-36 (AJL36).

Tanpa mahu menunggu lama, Shila yang popular menerusi lagu “Khilaf Asmara”, “Tiada Dirimu”, “Tentang Rahsia” dan “Patah Seribu” muncul dengan singla terbaharu berjudul “Jauh Hati” yang dilancarkan secara rasmi pada 9 Disember lalu.

Menariknya, lagu ciptaan sepenuhnya oleh Shila itu menceritakan mengenai kisah hidup yang  dilalui.

“Lagu ini mengisahkan tentang seseorang dalam suatu perhubungan yang cuba untuk mempertahankannya sedaya upaya. Dia berada dalam dilema samaada perlu kekal setia dalam perhubungan tersebut sedangkan dirinya berasa seperti tidak dihargai. Akhirnya, dia ambil keputusan untuk membawa diri. Dia pun Jauh Hati lantas terus meninggalkan perhubungan itu.

“Kalau diamati dari segi lirik lagu ini, saya tidak nafikan ia menceritakan mengenai kisah hidup saya. Walaupun saya dah tulis lagu ni kira agak lama, ia mengisahkan kisah peribadi saya pada ketika itu. Tapi sekarang, saya masih tetap juga boleh rasa keperitannya.

“Kalau nak tahu macam mana saya boleh dapat ‘mood’ untuk menyanyikan lagu ni, apa yang boleh dikatakan ia begitu sukar dalam studio. Malah, proses penggambaran video muzik lagu ni pun menjadi satu cabaran yang besar,” katanya.

Menurut Shila, cabaran terbesar ketika merakamkan lagu “Jauh Hati” ialah menahan diri daripada tidak menangis.

“Cabaran saya ketika merakamkan lagu ini adalah untuk tidak menangis dan pada masa yang sama mengawal baik lontaran suara saya. Saya bertuah kerana ketika merakamkan lagu ini, saya dikelilingi kawan baik saya iaitu Amylea Azizan. Dia ada di studio untuk menjaga vokal saya dan yang lebih istimewa lagi dia juga bertindak sebagai pengarah muzik video Jauh Hati.

“Walaupun lagu ini ditulis sepenuhnya oleh saya, semangat persahabatan kami masih kekal utuh. Alhamdulillah, untuk lagu sendiri ini, cabaran itu diselangi dengan kesenangan apatah lagi dengan adanya ‘strong support system’,” katanya.

Berkongsi lanjut, Shila berkata, idea menghasilkan lagu “Jauh Hati” yang bergenre balada itu datang secara semula jadi.

“Sejujurnya, bila saya menghasilkan lagu seperti ini, idea yang datang itu lahir semula jadi. Sebenarnya, saya menulis lagu ini pada 11 November tahun lalu. Kalau ditanya susah atau tidak, jawapannya tidak.

“Dalam masa sama, ketika menghasilkan lagu ini, saya tak fikir pun lagu dalam genre apa sebab bila saya tulis sesebuah lagu, memang saya hanya ikut ‘flow’ saja. Tidak ada spesifik sebab untuk saya tulis sesebuah lagu. Cuma, ada juga lagu yang telah saya tulis dalam genre lain tapi belum dikeluarkan lagi,” katanya.

Dalam masa sama, Shila mengakui sepanjang tahun ini banyak momen indah dilalui membabitkan kerjaya seninya.

“Alhamdulillah, kerjaya seni sepanjang tahun ini penuh dengan kejutan dan pencapaian. Saya melalui detik liku yang sangat luarbiasa. Selepas bercerai, saya muncul juara ‘The Masked Singer Malaysia’ musim kedua, Juara Lagu dengan SOG, tempat ketiga GV9 dan menjadi juri program ‘All Together Now’ musim kedua. Kemudian, lagu duet bersama kak Liza Hanim iaitu Bahagiakan Dia dapat mara ke pentas AJL37 dan akhirnya dapat melancarkan lagu Jauh Hati ini.

“Kiranya kalau nak ‘recap’ tahun 2022 ini, memang penuh warna-warni. Alhamdulillah, saya kira ini juga kemunculan semula saya yang terbesar selepas sekian lama dan harap ia dapat mengubati rindu ramai peminat yang lama menantikan lagu terbaru daripada saya.

“Saya memang dah lama tidak melancarkan lagu ciptaan sendiri. Jadi, Jauh Hati ini adalah karya terbaru ciptaan saya sendiri. Saya harap ia akan diterima ramai dan menjadi sebuah lagu yang akan didengari ketika mana pendengar mungkin memerlukan sebuah lagu untuk melepaskan emosi mereka dan menangis. Selepas mendengar lagu ini, kita semua akan merasa lebih baik dan lega saja. Itulah yang saya harapkan daripada lagu ini,” mengakhiri kata.

A particular Filipino song may have caught your ear if you frequent social media platforms. The easy-listening music “Pano,” by Philippines’ newest star Zack Tabudlo, is poised to become another regional success after making waves from its native Philippines to Indonesia and all the way down to our Malaysian shores.

Throughout the years, Malaysians have been known to appreciate songs in countless Asian foreign languages thanks to the never-ending exposure to a variety of pop-culture products from our neighbours. And ‘Pano’ is the latest testament to this phenomenon.

The track’s haunting tune immediately captures the attention of listeners the moment it is played and somehow succeeds in getting repeated. This inexplicable magic of ‘Pano’ is yet another simple example of how Filipino music is easily accepted here in Malaysia.

Now a favourite on one of the world’s most popular social media applications TikTok, ‘Pano’ which means ‘how’ in Filipino looks destined to become Zack Tabudlo’s ticket to a wider fanbase beyond his home country.

Now that the song is trending in Malaysia, Zack shared his hopes for his new audience in the country.

“I’m looking forward to them hearing more songs in the future. Definitely more painful than Pano with more styles and genres that they will jive and bop to,” said Zack about this exciting development.

Discovered at the very tender age of 10 on a local Filipino reality show called Talentadong Pinoy, Zack continued to create ripples back home after being a contestant on The Voice Kids Philippines.

Being a part of the competition pushed him to form the youth singing group, Gravity, with his fellow contenders. With Zack as its frontman, Gravity’s ensemble released Imposible, a song about an unrequited love sung in a catchy pop beat. Aside from Gravity, Zack was also one half of the teen pop duo Zack and Fritz with fellow The Voice Kids alumna Eufritz Santos.

He began his solo music career in 2018, venturing not only in performing but also in songwriting and music production.

In 2020, Zack joined Island Records Philippines where he continued honing his identity as a musician. His singles Nangangamba, Cruel, Sigurado, Iyong Iyo, and Elizabeth are testaments of his evolving creative songwriting and production style. In fact Nangangamba has garnered more than 87 million streams while Sigurado surpassed 10 million.

In 2021, Zack released his global viral hit song Binibini which took him to an even bigger stage. This single had him reign at the top of the Spotify charts for six consecutive weeks, making it the longest-running #1 local track by a Filipino RADAR artist.

With over 112 Million streams on Spotify, Binibini also topped the Global Viral chart for four consecutive weeks. Spotify Philippines hailed Binibini as the most streamed song of 2021, with Nangangamba being the 2nd most streamed song.

Zack also released his debut album Episode and this single Pano during the last quarter of 2021. Pano also reigned at the top of the Spotify charts for nine consecutive weeks, breaking his previous record of six weeks with Binibini.

As of 2022, Zack’s debut album “Episode” has spent eighteen weeks at #1 on Spotify’s Weekly Top Albums in the Philippines, with over 1 Billion global streams and views.

Though a simple limerick of love, Pano which sings of a broken heart caused by the cruelty of being let go by a lover seems relatable, making it an instant hit among music fans.

To further entice his ardent followers, Zack took to his socials to announce that Pano is actually part of a bigger trilogy.

He then released a three-part music video entitled PANO: THE TRILOGY for his tracks ‘Anghel,’ ‘Yakap,’ and his chart-topping song ‘Pano.’ The trilogy stars Zack, along with Filipina actress Kira Balinger. The storyline revolves around the relationship between the two characters.

As an artist who continuously challenges convention, Zack is excited to create bigger things for his fans.

Children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Yesuvin Mahligai, Selangor, received holiday cheer from Alamanda Shopping Centre (Alamanda) in the spirit of the season. A group of 31 youngsters between the ages of 3 and 18 were invited to a warm-hearted celebration in Alamanda on December 14, 2022. When they arrived, the management staff of Alamanda met them.

The little ones were taken for mini train rides in the mall before being ushered to the Centre  Court to witness a magic show performance. They were then presented with Christmas gifts by the General Manager of Alamanda, Pang Sook Fong before being treated to a sumptuous  Christmas lunch. The event was made more meaningful with Alamanda’s retail partners contributing Christmas goodies to the children.
